File the 10-20 mg Levitra reviews as endpoints, then the QT flag

Four fixed-dose rooms scored Levitra 10-20 mg on the same instruments as the rest of the class. IIEF erectile-function domain, SEP2 for penetration, SEP3 for a completed intercourse. The scores moved. That part of the file is settled and, in the useful sense, dull. Ranking the three oral PDE5 inhibitors off those numbers is how forums waste a night. The signal worth isolating sits on the safety side. Vardenafil stretches the QT interval a little. The 59-man crossover and the later gatifloxacin add-on study put milliseconds on paper. For most men those milliseconds are a footnote. For a man with congenital long QT or a Class IA or Class III antiarrhythmic, they are the reason to pick a different tablet. This review posts the endpoints, then the flag. Not a league table.

Levitra 10-20 mg reviews start with IIEF, not a ranking

Buy, cheap, and reviews next to Levitra 10-20 mg usually mean a man wants a winner. The trial file will not crown one.

Online reviews collapse three different questions into a star. Did the 10 mg tablet work on a light stomach. Did the 20 mg tablet work after prostate surgery. Did anyone mention a QT drug. Those are not one score. The registration program used shared tools so the drugs can be compared without a podium: the IIEF erectile-function domain, scored 0-30, plus SEP2 and SEP3 from the encounter diary. Mean baseline EF in the four major Levitra trials was 11.8 - moderate-to-severe territory. That is the population the reviews should be read against, not a healthy volunteer.

A prescription 10 or 20 mg tablet that beat placebo on those tools is not a promise it will beat the other two brands in your hand. Head-to-head ranking was not the design. If you want the molecule's working note, including the holds, use the vardenafil signal page. This file stays with what the rooms actually counted.

Four rooms, 2431 men, one shared scorecard

The US label pools four major double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, fixed-dose, parallel, multicenter trials in 2431 men aged 20-83, mean age 57. Doses were 5, 10, and 20 mg, as needed, without regard to meals. Two rooms were a general ED population. One was diabetes. One was post-prostatectomy. Primary look was at three months. All four rooms showed clinically meaningful, statistically significant gains on EF domain, SEP2, and SEP3 versus placebo. The drug also worked across age bands and across the race groups the trials actually enrolled.

That pooled sentence is the floor, not the interesting wall. The interesting wall is how the numbers shrink when the vessels and the nerves are already damaged, and how a separate cardiac study - not an ED trial - is what isolates this INN. Keep those layers apart or you will read a diabetes SEP3 as if it were a ranking against tadalafil. It is not.

Porst's at-home file and the North American ladder

Porst's 2001 at-home trial came first. The North American fixed-dose room is the ladder most US labels still echo.

Porst and colleagues randomized 601 men with mixed-etiology ED to placebo or 5, 10, or 20 mg for 12 weeks. Primary items were IIEF Q3 (penetration) and Q4 (maintenance). All three active doses beat placebo. Successful intercourse sat between 71 and 75% on vardenafil. On the 20 mg dose, 80% of men said erections improved on the global assessment question, against 30% on placebo. Headache, flush, and rhinitis were the usual class noise. That file answered the first ping: the tablet works at home, not only in a lab.

The major North American fixed-dose trial enrolled 762 men, mean age 57. Baseline EF sat at 13-14 across arms. At three months, EF domain was 18, 21, and 21 on 5, 10, and 20 mg against 15 on placebo. SEP2 - erection firm enough to penetrate - was 65%, 75%, and 80% against 52% placebo. SEP3 - erection held for successful intercourse - was 51%, 64%, and 65% against 32% placebo. A European room of 803 men confirmed the pattern. Gains held at six months in the North American file. Read those 10 and 20 mg columns as a ladder, not as proof that 20 is always the better night. Side effects climb too.

Diabetes and nerve-sparing prostatectomy were the hard rooms

Goldstein's diabetes trial - 439 men on the label count, type 1 or type 2, ED longer than six months, HbA1c at or under 12% - is the honest test. Diabetes chews small vessels and nerves. Every PDE5 inhibitor loses ground there. After 12 weeks, EF domain was 17 on 10 mg and 19 on 20 mg against 13 on placebo. SEP2 was 61% and 64% against 36%. SEP3 was 49% and 54% against 23%. Goldstein's GAQ line in the published paper: 57% and 72% said erections improved, against 13% on placebo. Real. Smaller than the general rooms. That honesty is the point.

The post-prostatectomy room enrolled 427 men, mean age 60, after radical prostatectomy. EF domain reached 15 on both 10 and 20 mg against 9 on placebo. SEP2 sat at 47-48% against 22%. SEP3 sat at 37% and 34% against 10%. Brock's published GAQ in 440 randomized men: 65.2% on 20 mg and 59.4% on 10 mg against 12.5% placebo, and among bilateral nerve-sparing men 71.1% and 59.7% against 11.5%. The nerve that starts the cascade has to be at least partly there. A 20 mg tablet cannot invent a signal the surgery removed. Parallel hard-room files for the siblings sit in the sildenafil trial note and the tadalafil evidence note.

The 59-man QT study is a flag, not a scare headline

Efficacy rooms do not isolate this INN. A crossover in 59 healthy men aged 45-60 does.

Investigators gave therapeutic 10 mg film-coated vardenafil and supratherapeutic 80 mg - four times the labeled ceiling, chosen to cover the concentrations you see when a low 5 mg dose meets ritonavir 600 mg twice daily - against placebo and against moxifloxacin 400 mg. QT was read at one hour, near peak. Therapeutic and supratherapeutic vardenafil and the active control produced similar QTc stretches. The study was not built for a statistical bake-off between doses. The clinical impact of those millisecond changes is unknown, and the label says so. Unknown is not the same as none.

A later postmarketing study in 44 healthy volunteers put cleaner numbers on an add-on. Single-dose 10 mg Levitra: placebo-subtracted QTcF +5 msec (90% CI 2-8). Gatifloxacin 400 mg: +4 msec (1-7). Together: +9 msec (6-11). Additive. That is the flag. Not torsades in the average man on a 10 or 20 mg tablet. Additive stretch when another QT-active drug is already on board.

Class IA and III antiarrhythmics close the door

The label's avoid list is short and specific. Congenital QT prolongation. Class IA antiarrhythmics - quinidine, procainamide. Class III - amiodarone, sotalol. Those men should not use Levitra. Other QT-prolonging drugs are a consider, not an automatic yes. A baseline ECG and a medication list settle more arguments than a forum review. When the rhythm file is messy, I pick a different PDE5 rather than bargain a 10 mg start.

CYP3A4 sits next to that flag because inhibitors raise exposure and the 80 mg QT arm was built to cover a ritonavir-level climb. Ritonavir 600 mg twice daily with 5 mg vardenafil: 49-fold AUC, 13-fold Cmax, half-life out to 26 hours, labeled cap 2.5 mg once in 72 hours. Indinavir: 16-fold AUC, 7-fold Cmax, cap 2.5 mg daily. Ketoconazole 200 mg: 10-fold AUC, cap 5 mg. Ketoconazole 400 mg or itraconazole 400 mg: cap 2.5 mg daily. Erythromycin: 4-fold AUC, cap 5 mg. Grapefruit juice is named as a likely increaser even without a dedicated study. Dose caps are not a ranking. They are how you keep a 10-20 mg story from becoming an 80 mg exposure.

Nitrates still outrank every SEP3 gain

Every efficacy number on this page loses to one contraindication. Vardenafil plus nitrates or nitric oxide donors can drop blood pressure to a dangerous, sometimes fatal, low. The label has not set a safe interval. Riociguat, a guanylate-cyclase stimulator, is closed for the same pressure reason. A man with coronary disease is also more likely to carry both a nitrate and a QT-active antiarrhythmic. That is two independent reasons to stay off this tablet, not a puzzle to solve with a smaller dose.

Alpha-blockers are a caution, not that absolute. Both classes vasodilate. Start the PDE5 at the lowest recommended dose only after the alpha-blocker is stable. Separate the timing. Volume depletion and other antihypertensives stack the drop. Elderly men at or over 65 showed 34% higher Cmax and 52% higher AUC; a 5 mg start is worth considering. Moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh B) jumped Cmax 130% and AUC 160% after 10 mg; start 5 mg, ceiling 10 mg. Severe hepatic impairment was not studied. Those are filing rules. They are not a podium.

How this desk files the 10-20 mg reviews

Elena's post from Edinburgh: Levitra 10-20 mg is an effective on-demand tablet with an unusually well-drawn safety personality. The general rooms moved IIEF and SEP the way the class moves them. The diabetes and prostatectomy rooms moved them less, which is what damaged plumbing should do. Porst, the North American ladder, Goldstein, Brock - those names are the evidence. They are not a reason to rank this tablet above sildenafil or tadalafil.

What isolates vardenafil is the QT flag on top of the class-wide nitrate ban. For most men neither blocks a fill. For a man with congenital long QT, an IA or III antiarrhythmic, or a nitrate he cannot drop, those two facts decide and point him elsewhere. Match the tablet to the heart, not to a review star. The path that put the tablet on a US shelf is in the Bayer-to-Levitra path. The night mechanics are in the fat and hour-mark file. Bring your own list to your own prescriber. This page is a teaching line.

Reader questions on this article

Answered by Dr. Elena Vasquez, MD · Urology & men's health

The evidence file drew named questions. I answer as a teaching hour, not as your cardiologist.

What do Levitra 10-20 mg reviews actually measure if not which pill is best?

Honest reviews, and honest trials, measure change on shared tools. IIEF-EF asks how often you could get and keep an erection over the prior month. SEP2 asks whether penetration happened. SEP3 asks whether the erection lasted for satisfying sex. Levitra 10 and 20 mg moved all three versus placebo in four big rooms. That is not a ranking against Viagra or Cialis. Those programs used the same tools in different men at different times. I file reviews as 'did this dose work in this body,' not as a league table. If a site sells you a winner, that is marketing. Trace the endpoints.

I have diabetes and the 10 mg reviews look weaker. Is 20 mg the real dose?

Weaker than the general rooms, yes. Still better than placebo. Goldstein's diabetes file put EF at 17 on 10 mg and 19 on 20 mg against 13 on placebo, and SEP3 at 49% and 54% against 23%. Some men do need the 20 mg ceiling. Some get enough from 10 mg with fewer headaches. Diabetes damages vessels and nerves, so no oral PDE5 restores a textbook night if that damage is advanced. Give a labeled dose a few honest attempts - hour mark, not a greasy plate - before you call it a miss. Then talk to your own clinician about a climb, not to a comments thread.

The QT flag sounds like I should avoid Levitra entirely. Should I?

Only if your file matches the avoid list. Congenital long QT. Quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone, sotalol. Those are closes. For a man with a normal ECG and none of those drugs, the 10 mg study put QTcF about 5 milliseconds over placebo. Similar to the moxifloxacin control in the 59-man crossover. That is a flag to mention, not a reason to panic. If your medication list has other QT-stretching drugs, that is a clinician call, not a self-pass. I would rather switch INN than stack milliseconds you do not need.

I had a nerve-sparing prostatectomy. Do the 10-20 mg numbers apply to me?

The numbers are a ceiling, not a promise. The label room of 427 men reached EF 15 on both 10 and 20 mg against 9 on placebo, and SEP3 around 34-37% against 10%. Brock's GAQ was better in bilateral nerve-sparing men than in the whole cohort. The tablet amplifies a nerve signal. It cannot manufacture one the operation removed. If some function remains, a 10 or 20 mg trial is standard. If the bundles are gone, oral PDE5 is the wrong tool. Timing after surgery and pelvic rehab belong with your surgeon, not with a generic review score.

Can I buy Levitra 20 mg online because the reviews say 10 mg failed?

A failed 10 mg night is often food, timing, or no arousal, not a proof you need an unregulated 20 mg bottle. The labeled climb exists: 10 mg start, 20 mg ceiling, once a day, after you and a prescriber look at side effects and other drugs. An online offer that skips that look is not a review-based upgrade. It is an unknown tablet. I will not help you order around a prescription. If 10 mg was honestly timed and still thin, bring that diary to clinic. That is how a 20 mg tablet gets on a real label.

I take amiodarone. Is there any 10 mg trick that makes Levitra safe?

No trick. Amiodarone is Class III. The label says avoid. Vardenafil's small QT stretch plus amiodarone's stretch is the exact add-on the gatifloxacin study was warning about in spirit: milliseconds stack. I would pick a different PDE5 if your cardiologist agrees an ED tablet is appropriate at all. And if a nitrate is also in the drawer, the whole class is closed on pressure grounds. Cardiac medicines outrank a SEP3 gain. Every time.

How do I read a 65% SEP3 on 20 mg? Is that my chance?

It is a per-patient success rate in that trial arm, not your personal odds. North American SEP3 was 64% on 10 mg and 65% on 20 mg against 32% placebo. Diabetes SEP3 was 49% and 54%. Prostatectomy SEP3 was 37% and 34%. The same 20 mg tablet, three different biologies. Your chance tracks your vessels, nerves, dose, food, and other drugs, not the single biggest number on a blog. I tell men to read the room that looks like them, then give the labeled dose a fair run.

Why does this page refuse to say which PDE5 is best?

Because the files were not built to crown one. Shared endpoints let you say each tablet beats placebo. They do not let you say Levitra 20 mg beats tadalafil 20 mg in the same man. Duration, food, QT, cost, and which side effects you actually get decide the pick. Vardenafil's unique flag is QT. Sildenafil's noisy extra is PDE6 vision. Tadalafil's is duration and PDE11 ache. I file those as personalities, not ranks. A ranking article is usually selling something.

I am on ritonavir. The reviews never mention that. What does the evidence file say?

The reviews skip it because forums do not read the interaction table. Ritonavir 600 mg twice daily with 5 mg vardenafil drove a 49-fold AUC jump and stretched half-life to 26 hours. The QT study used 80 mg to cover that kind of climb. The labeled cap is 2.5 mg once in 72 hours, not a 10 or 20 mg start. That is not a review. That is a hard cap. Your HIV clinician and the person who would prescribe the ED tablet need to talk. Do not freelance a cheap 10 mg fill on top of a booster.

General education from a clinician, not personal medical advice. Bring your own history to your own prescriber.
